Overflowing drains can become a real nuisance and often damage your property through flooding. The priority when a drain floods is catching it early, this way our team of professional engineers can fix any issues quickly.

Internal Or External Drains Overflowing?

The biggest issue to take into consideration between indoor & outdoor drains is the type of material that is blocking them. For example; typically outdoors will suffer from debris such as dead leaves, twigs etc. Whereas indoors you’ll typically find non-flushable items.

Depending on where in your home, the culprits will be different. If a blockage originates in your bathroom it’s likely due to non-flushable products, this is relatively straight forward for our engineers to fix depending on the size of a blockage but once all larger parts are removed, they should cease to overflow, providing there are no more sinister issues further in the system.

Kitchen Drain Blockages

Kitchen drain blockages can be slightly more of an issue due to the cause mostly being grease & fat build up. As well as unblocking your drain and stopping them from overflowing, our engineers will clean the interior systems using high powered jets to ensure that no issue arises again in the near future.

If your drains are overflowing, you should try to mitigate any damage by placing towels etc. wherever necessary until one of our engineers can get to you to assist.

Outdoor Drains Overflowing

We advise always ensuring that external drains are kept free of debris as much as possible. It is best to have them checked after particularly bad weather or cold months due to an increase in plant debris and other loose material that may clog them up.

As experienced drainage engineers we see root ingress as a problem very often. This is where tree roots have started to grow inside of pipework thereby damaging it and causing blockages. Our team uses high tech CCTV equipment to assess any damage before carrying out any work. This ensures that jetting and other equipment we use does not further damage the area if things are more serious.

Preventing Your Drains Overflowing

There are key steps to take when looking after your drains; such as ensuring you don’t pour any grease or fat down them & ensuring that no unnecessary debris falls into them. This also includes harsh chemicals, they can cause harm to drainage systems long term by damaging inner walls. This may create more issues later down the line.

Having your drains inspected and cleaned regularly by us will ensure that they stay in the best condition possible all year round.
